In their report published back in June, HMICFRS highlighted the lack of references to Roads Policing within many Force’s Force Management Statements. With the recent update Road Traffic data incorporating Killed and Seriously Injuries on Britain’s roads, we’ve taken an exception reporting method to shine some light on the trends in roads policing – posing the question:

‘How Safe are your Roads?’

As referenced within the HMICFRS report, the number of impacted by fatal and serious incidents has remained broadly similar across the country over the past 5-years. However, there have been some sizable variations across different Police Forces. Some Forces such as Northamptonshire, Suffolk, as well as Cleveland and Durham in the North East saw increases in excess of 20% for both Fatal and Serious accidents.
